Just a quick note to tell you all that I've finally managed to get my modem to work in Ubuntu Hardy Heron, and I'm alive and kicking on Linux now. مجرد ملاحظة سريعة لاقول لكم ان جميع لقد تمكنت اخيرا من الحصول على المودم للعمل في أوبونتو هاردي هيرون ، وأنا على قيد الحياة والركل على لينكس الآن.
I've wanted to use Linux for a long time now, but hesitated because my modem didn't work. لقد أراد أن استخدام لينوكس لوقت طويل الآن ، ولكن ترددت بسبب المودم لم يعمل. After searching online and hacking some configuration files in Ubuntu, I got the modem to finally work (thanks to بعد البحث على الانترنت والقرصنة بعض ملفات التكوين في أوبونتو ، وحصلت على مودم في النهاية إلى العمل (وذلك بفضل Shankar شانكار for tips on gedit and sudo and للحصول على نصائح حول gedit وسودو و DJFlush DJFlush for many other tips). للحصول على نصائح أخرى كثيرة).

same happened with me…when i was not able to switch to linux just because my utstar adsl modem does not work with linux…but now i have a netgear adsl modem…will be soon having linux on my machine حدث الشيء نفسه معي... عندما لم أكن قادرة على التحول الى لينكس فقط لأن بلدي utstar مودم خدمة الحزمة العريضة لا يعمل مع لينكس... ولكن الآن عندي مودم نت جير المتماثل... سيتم قريبا بعد أن لينكس على الجهاز الخاص بي
@Ajay: What's so special? @ أجاي : ما هو خاص جدا؟ Knowing that you're using software that is created by the community. مع العلم ان كنت تستخدم البرمجيات التي يتم إنشاؤها من قبل المجتمع. Knowing that the OS will not crap out and require 12 reboots per day. مع العلم أن نظام التشغيل لن حماقة وتتطلب إعادة تمهيد 12 في اليوم الواحد. Knowing that you won't need antivirus. تعلم أنك لن تحتاج إلى الحماية من الفيروسات. Knowing that you won't have hanged apps. تعلم أنك لن يكون لها تطبيقات شنقا. And exploring something new. واستكشاف شيء جديد.

I've been contemplating dual booting with Ubuntu since sometime now but haven't been able to do it for the fact that I'm tied up with many things and ofcourse, procrastination. لقد كنت تفكر في تمهيد مزدوج مع أوبونتو منذ بعض الوقت ولكن لم تكن قادرة على القيام بذلك لكون أنا قيدوا مع الكثير من الامور ووفكورسي والمماطلة.

I too had installed Ubuntu few days back and also managed to configure TATA indicom on it. كنت قد ركبت جدا أوبونتو أيام قليلة الى الوراء وكذلك نجح في تكوين شركة تاتا indicom على ذلك. Its really cool working on it, but the support for applications need to be more, only then it can become more popular. وحقا باردة تعمل على ذلك ، ولكن الدعم لتطبيقات حاجة إلى أن تكون أكثر ، وعندئذ فقط يمكن أن تصبح أكثر شعبية. after breaking my head for configuring the display on Ubuntu Hardy, and multiple re-installation I came back to Windows again. بعد كسر رأسي لتكوين العرض على أوبونتو هاردي ، وإعادة تركيب متعددة عدت إلى ويندوز مرة أخرى.
