If you have been active online, reading websites, blogs and/or feeds, you would have known about Firefox 3 download record attempt.
Mozilla, creators of Firefox, wants to set a world record for most downloads of a software on a day. That day happens to be on the release date of Firefox - June 17. Mozilla calculates that this world record will help spread awareness of Firefox more, and presumably evade into non-geek sections of computer users that Firefox has previously left untouched. More than 1.6 million individuals have pledged to download Firefox on June 17, and hopefully many more will.
I was watching a recap of WWDC 08 (see it at CNET), when I thought of the possibilities of iPhone as a gaming console. I know that this topic may have been done to death with the thoughts of everyone and their uncle, but I still cannot resist tabling my own thoughts.
Note that this is not a typical fanboy post mentioning only positive points, nor is it yet another list post (though there are a couple of lists).
The second release candidate (RC2) of the much-awaited Mozilla Firefox version 3 has been launched. RC2, is a preview release mainly intended for testing and feedback.
“Firefox 3 release candidate 2 is now available for download. It includes new features, as well as dramatic improvements to performance, memory usage and speed” wrote lead developer of Firefox and Mozilla’s vice president of engineering, Mike Beltzner.
