WordPress is the most popular blogging software right now, and will continue to be so for some time, thanks to the open-source community. WordPress is de meest populaire blogging software nu, en zal dat ook voor bepaalde tijd, dankzij de open source-gemeenschap. The mass exodus of users from Movable Type began when MT's makers decided to make it paid and restrictive in nature. However, being open-source usually presents some strange problems, which are typical to all things open-source. Looking at the WordPress administrative back-end where all the hard work takes place, all you can see is some blue backgrounds with white/black text, text entry fields and some rounded corners in widgets/boxes. Kijkend naar de WordPress administratieve back-end waar al het harde werk plaatsvindt, alles wat je kunt zien is een blauwe achtergrond met een wit / zwarte tekst, tekst invoervelden en een aantal afgeronde hoeken in widgets / dozen. There is no uniformity to inspire creativity in the blogger. Er is geen uniformiteit te inspireren creativiteit in de blogger.
Colour schemes are awry, with the worst being blue text on blue background (talk about readabliity !) and black text on blue background. Kleurenschema's zijn mis, met de ergste worden blauwe tekst op blauwe achtergrond (praten over readabliity!) En zwarte tekst op blauwe achtergrond. The sidebar modules look much better, though, with the rounded corners, hide/unhide using JavaScript and drop shadows. Boxy tabs on top? Boxy tabbladen bovenaan? What were they thinking? All of this reminds me of the Google homepage and its simplicity (which was once praised) which the users are tired of. Fast-loading pages are not the in-thing anymore, as most bloggers/techies have fast internet connections. The least they could do is to make some rounded corners for the tabs, and a move away from the box model of 1990s. Het minste wat ze kunnen doen is om een aantal afgeronde hoeken voor de tabbladen, en een weg uit de doos model van de jaren 1990.
Modules Modules
'Modules' here refer to the boxes like Categories and Post Slug on the sidebar, and the Upload and Custom fields boxes below the post area. 'Modules' hier verwijzen naar de vakken zoals Categorieën en Post Slug op de zijbalk, en het uploaden en Aangepaste velden vakjes onder de post gebied.
Modules are better-looking (as compared to other elements). Modules zijn beter uitziende (vergeleken met andere elementen). They have rounded corners, good colour combos (white text on blue background) and JavaScript-based hide/unhide feature. Ze hebben afgeronde hoeken, een goede kleur combo's (witte tekst op blauwe achtergrond) en JavaScript-gebaseerde verbergen / weergeven functie. There is also other goodness like AJAX category input and custom fields, all of which make life better. Er is ook andere goedheid zoals AJAX categorie ingang en aangepaste velden, die het leven beter.
Faith, hope Geloof, hoop
WordPress is an excellent, young project, and can only move in the right direction. WordPress is een jonge, excellente project, en kan slechts een stap in de goede richting. The introduction of widgets and better plugins went a long way in saving headaches for non-geeks. De invoering van widgets en plugins beter ging een lange weg in te slaan hoofdpijn voor niet-geeks. The only problem is that you will still stare at the plain design if you have re-installed WordPress upgraded (ie, you have to upload the plugin for every reinstall). well, it's just a matter of few days. Nou, het is gewoon een kwestie van enkele dagen. as soon as 2.5 will be out, everting will be fine. zo spoedig 2.5 zal worden opgemerkt, everting zal geldboete.
I have used only Wp tiger plugin, Let me check out the others, but I still love the default look. Ik heb alleen gebruikt Wp tijger plugin, Laat me check out de anderen, maar ik hou nog steeds van de standaard look.
