VLC player is arguably the best play-all media player out there. With its solid feature set and bundled codecs to play most video formats, it has become very popular (it has been downloaded over 166 million times for Windows alone).
The default interface of VLC player is perhaps the only chink in its armour. It is not ugly, but is rather dull. As with most other open-source projects, VLC can be customized. You can view an extensive list of VLC skins with preview screenshots here.

Crossover Leopard: a beautiful Mac-style skin for VLC player
My favorite VLC theme is Crossover Leopard, which has the colors and style of Mac OS X. Sadly, VLC skins are available only for Windows and Linux – they do not work in Mac OS X.
Installing the theme is easy – download Crossover Leopard skin and place it in the appropriate location:
For Windows:
C:\Program Files\VLC\skins
For Linux:
~/.share/vlc/skins2
