GMail Labs had recently announced support for third-party gadgets. Remember The Milk, a To-Do list application, has come to GMail sidebar. A simple to-do list, Remember the Milk has been available as a Firefox extension so that RTM is available in GMail. RTM has a basic free service and a paid $25 per year. The Gmail gadget has the big advantage of being independent of any browser or plugins. This means that more users will now be able to use RTM.
Adding Remember the Milk to GMail
Adding the gadget requires three steps:
Enable “Add any gadget by URL” feature in Labs tab in GMail settings.

- Manually enter the RTM gadget location(which is http://www.rememberthemilk.com/services/modules/gmail/rtm.xml).
The gadget is mostly for developer testing rather than widespread use – the rather clumsy method of adding the gadget is a testimony to this. However, the new Labs feature is exciting in that GMail will allow access to more third-party gadgets.
The RTM for Gmail Firefox extension will be available, and as of now, offers features that are not available in the gadget.
