Linkerati: 26 September 2007
It is time for another edition of linklove. In the previous Linkerosphere post, I shared some of the best posts in the blogosphere minus the A-listers. Also included are the choice of posts here at TechZilo.
Why did I exclude the A-listers? They get tons of links, readers and recognition. The world just is not fair, and us lesser known bloggers do not get even half the recognition of what we deserve. This series is my attempt at sharing some of the gems from the mere mortals(no disrespect ;) ).

An’ I thought link love was bad for PR. Who cares? Let’s have fun!
Posts at TechZilo
- Why new blogs should not have ads: This post looks at the pros(not much) and cons of placing ads, how much money a new blog could earn by placing ads, and whether it is worth the trouble.
- Does more adverts spending bring more traffic?: A look at the vicious cycle of more advertising > more traffic > more revenue > more advertising, and why new blogs are killed off by this strategy.
- How to install WordPress locally on PC for easier theme development: An easy, intuitive tutorial for installing WordPress locally, which will allow you to test your themes/plugins/hacks without any risk.
- Simple SEO tips to improve blogs’ search rankings: Blog SEO seems to be a hot topic these days, and this post was my attempt at pouring some oil to it :D Shows you some easy, practical, surefire SEO tips, which have worked well for me.
Around the Blogosphere
Not to forget the best posts by other bloggers around the blogosphere, here they are(in no particular order):
- Safest way to get traffic from Digg comments: Alexandru talks about the best way to extract traffic from Digg.
- How to: position images using CSS: Centering images using CSS was one big headache for me, and this post solved it(headache) better than caffeine.
- Keyword Targeting: Ashwini tells us about how he ranked tops for important keywords.
- How to manage time for blogging and studies: Shankar tells us how he does it - I must say, I am impressed(and you’re WRONG about theme modding - it gives you more links if you can release your mod).
- Free anti-virus software: My favourite is Avast(my comment), what’s yours?
That rounds up my list of links. Do you have a blog you’d like to see linked to, here? Or another to recommend? Tell me through your comments, and you are in for consideration for next Reader Tips post.

@Shankar: You’re welcome, and yes, I mean that every blogger should know basic CSS, and customize their designs with that. I know you’re putting a lot of effort to your post, but without an original theme, it just looks like *something* is missing. Not much, just a little :D
@Nirmal: Yes, I probably saw the permalink from source, from the comment number href.
@Ashwini: Damn, I know you’re a boy - you said that when we chatted, sorry about that. Somehow, I still don’t have it in my mind that you’re a boy ;)
Now, let me edit all the mistakes.
