Google acquired Youtube nearly two years ago, but they have only started integrating YouTube and Google services now. Some users (most?) have seen a green bar at the top prompting a linking of the accounts, but if you haven’t got it already, here are the steps to having one login ID less:
- Click “Sign in with your Google Account” in right sidebar. Enter your Google login credentials.
- You will get a page for linking your YouTube and Google accounts together. Enter your YouTube account details and then click “Link Accounts”.
- Optional: Check to make sure your accounts are linked by clicking “My Account” at the top right of the page and look for Account Settings. If you were successful at linking your accounts, you’ll see the option to “Unlink YouTube and Google Accounts

- Let’s socialize: Link up with me on social networking/media sites
- Find actual link behind shortened URLs with LongURL

Speaking of which, are you pleased with this, after all the controversy regarding YouTube handing over user data to Viacom? I personally don’t feel a difference, as Google holds the data either way, but others have been concerned a lot more (perhaps because your GMail and other Google services are linked to YouTube).
