John Chow has been penalised heavily by Google, for link-bombing. John Chow har straffats hårt av Google för länk-bombningarna. He is now far behind the first page for both “John Chow” and “Make Money Online” search terms. Han är nu långt efter den första sidan för både "John Chow" och "Make Money Online" sökord. There's also reports that Google will drop his PageRank from the 6 to 4, in the next PR update. For several months now, John Chow had been aggressively pursuing a linkback campaign, where he would link to any blogger who writes a review of his blog, and links to him with the link text “Make Money Online”. Under flera månader nu, John Chow hade aggressivt driva en linkback kampanj, där han länkar till alla bloggare som skriver en recension av hans blogg, och länkar till honom med länktexten "Make Money Online".
Google has been known for frowning on paid links, paid reviews and other forms of link fraud or “gaming the system”. Google har varit känt för rynkar på betalda länkar, betalda recensioner och andra former av länken bedrägeri eller "spel i systemet". Now, John Chow is on some 7 th page of results for “John Chow” on Google. Nu, John Chow är på ca 7: e sidan av resultaten för "John Chow" på Google. They claim that their algorithm is smart enough to penalise such sites automatically. De hävdar att deras algoritm är smart nog att bestraffa sådana webbplatser automatiskt.
However, this incident of JC makes me think twice about such claims. Men den här händelsen i JC får mig att tänka två gånger om sådana påståenden.

Which makes me wonder – does Google aspire to be the next Technorati? Vilket får mig att undra - Google har ambitionen att bli nästa Technorati? Remember, Technorati attained notoriety for rearranging their “Top 100″ list of blogs, favouring some bloggers, while manually removing some others. I personally think that JC has crossed the line. Personligen anser jag att JC har passerat linjen. His blog has become out of focus because of his make money online post campaign. Hans blogg har blivit ofokuserad på grund av hans tjäna pengar på nätet efter kampanjen.

John Chow got almost 3500 back links on google. John Chow fick nästan 3500 tillbaka länkar på google. I was thinking, if it was blogspot site or hosted on google, they might have not taken it as a serious matter. Jag tänkte, om det var blogspot webbplats eller på Google, de kanske inte har tagit det som en allvarlig fråga.
I also know, Google is very concerned about bad neighbourhood. Jag vet också, Google är mycket oroad över dåligt grannskap. So stop One minute to who you are going to link… Så stannar en minut för att som ni kommer att länka ...

@BB and Linu: Both of you seem to hate JC. @ BB och Linu: Båda ni verkar hata JC. But the fact is, unlike many other A-listers, he gets things done quickly, and has proof. Darren may saturate the net, but his methods are legit, and he presents the info in a readable manner. Darren maj mätta nätet, men hans metoder är äkta, och han presenterar information på ett läsbart sätt. You can't really deny the work he does Du kan inte förneka det arbete han gör

Yes, I like playing with things. Ja, jag gillar att leka med saker. The problem is, they're too bland, or too flashy. Problemet är att de är alltför intetsägande, eller för flärdfulla. I can't find any which are in between. Jag kan inte hitta något som är mittemellan.
But I'll probably stay with this theme – it has 3col, right sidebars, readability etc. That's what I look for, in a theme. Men jag ska nog stanna med detta tema - det har 3col, höger sidomenyer, läsbarhet etc. Det är vad jag letar efter i ett tema.
JC was penalized for not only link bombing but for paid links too,. JC var straffas inte bara länken bombningarna men för betalda länkar också.
As far is technorati is concerned , they have removed ~20 sites from their top 100 many of which are templates sites as if you have a template offering site, your blog will comparitively have a higher authority Så långt är technorati är berörda, de har tagit bort ~ 20 platser från sina top 100 av vilka många är mallar webbplatser om du har en mall som erbjuder webbplats, din blogg jämförelsevis har en högre myndighet
The case with JC is “make money online”.He made everyone link to him using these keyword and now he's out but it doesn't looks like he's affected I fallet med JC är "tjäna pengar online". Han gjorde alla länkar till honom med hjälp av dessa sökord och nu är han men det inte ser ut som han drabbats

Evil is different from greed. Evil skiljer sig från girighet. Google may not be greedy but they are turning evil with online world domination plans. Google får inte vara girig men de gör ont med online världen dominans planer.

Yeah, I agree with almost all you say – but I consider Google to be greedy too….After all, they're not acquiring YouTube etc. for charity – in long term, they envision earning big bucks from them. Ja, jag håller med om nästan allt du säger - men jag anser att Google ska vara girig också .... När allt kommer omkring, de är inte förvärva YouTube etc. för välgörenhet - på lång sikt, de tänka sig att tjäna stora pengar från dem.
I think that Google, as the most popular search engine, has a responsibility to keep their results accurate. Jag tror att Google, som den mest populära sökmotorn, har ett ansvar att hålla sina resultat korrekt. It sure sounds like they're editing the results manually. Det säker låter som de är redigering resultaten manuellt. On the plus side, they do it a lot less than Yahoo (who accepts payment for results editing I believe).
