When it comes to developing themes and plugins, you need the right tools to finish the job quickly and efficiently. Testing your themes and plugins can be a big head ache, as you have to reload the page every time, consuming bandwidth. - In the “Create New Database” Field, enter “wordpress” (without quotes), and select utf8_unicode_ci in the drop down box in the next field. In de "Create New Database" veld "wordpress" (zonder aanhalingstekens) en selecteer utf8_unicode_ci in de keuzelijst in het volgende veld. Click Create. Klik op Maken. XAMPP setup is now complete. XAMPP installatie is nu voltooid.
- Download Downloaden WordPress. WordPress.
- Unzip it to

You should have a wordpress folder in htdocs. U moet een wordpress map htdocs. Go to it, and open upwp-config-sample.php. You're done. U bent klaar. Now, use the wordpress folder as you would on your webserver, and upload the plugins, themes etc. to test. Nu kunt u het wordpress map als je dat zou doen op uw webserver en upload de plugins, thema's etc. te testen. I recommend doing this before attempting a manual install in your server ( if it doesn't have one-click installer). You have to rename wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php U hebt de naam van wp-config-sample.php naar wp-config.php
BTW, I think LAMPP and XAMPP are one and the same, except L is for Linux and X is for XP. BTW, ik denk dat LAMPP en XAMPP een en dezelfde, behalve L is voor Linux en X is voor XP.

Great tutorial! Groot-tutorial! I don't use XAMPP. Ik maak geen gebruik van XAMPP. I use NetServer, but still I have XAMPP in my PC in case I mess up with NetServer. Ik gebruik NetServer, maar toch heb ik XAMPP op mijn PC voor het geval ik rotzooi met NetServer.

I have set up WP on a live server before so I haven't miscalulated my ability to edit the config file, so any ideas what is missing? Great Tutorial Buddy . Groot Tutorial Buddy. Currently i use EasyPHP for this purpose . Momenteel gebruik ik EasyPHP voor dit doel. It is a cool way to test your themes and plugins . Het is een coole manier om je thema's en plugins.

Wow! Wow! Never thought about or even realized that you could do this. Nooit nagedacht over of zelfs maar realiseerde zich dat je kon doen. What a great idea and well described. Its nice for show-off and ego boosting, but for now I find this method the easiest – easier than EasyPHP/direct method. Het leuke voor de show-off en het stimuleren van het ego, maar voor nu vind ik deze methode de eenvoudigste - gemakkelijker dan EasyPHP / directe methode.
Great post, I've often wondered why more bloggers don't install locally to do testing, theme modifications, etc. I use WAMP and my only problem is finding the time to do more work/testing on my local install so that I can change my live site! Great post, ik heb vaak afgevraagd waarom meer bloggers niet installeert lokaal te doen testen, thema wijzigingen, enz. Ik gebruik WAMP en mijn enige probleem is het vinden van de tijd is om meer werk / testen op mijn lokaal installeren zodat ik kan mijn live site!

Nice tut..Sumesh. Nice tut .. Sumesh. I came across this one as I was looking for a more specific solution. Ik kwam in dit omdat ik op zoek was naar een meer specifieke oplossing. I was able to do everything you have mentioned in the tut and wordpress was installed, up and running the first time. Ik was in staat om alles te doen wat je hebt vermeld in de tut en WordPress is geïnstalleerd, en draait de eerste keer. But once I shutdown the pc and restart it a while later, i was unable to logon via a login page i had bookmarked. Maar zodra ik de pc afsluiten en opnieuw starten een tijdje later, ik was niet in staat in te loggen via een aanmeldingspagina Ik had bladwijzer.

Are you sure you did not turn off any services?(Start>Run>msconfig, and click enter, you'll get a window, click Services tab, and enable all services, restart and try again) Weet u zeker dat u niet uitschakelen alle diensten? (Start> Uitvoeren> msconfig en klik op enter, dan krijgt u een venster, klik op tabblad Services en schakel alle diensten, opnieuw en probeer het opnieuw)

I have gotten as far as installing everything as instructed. Ik heb zoveel te installeren alles volgens de instructies.
It wasn't as hard as expected as I'm no tech geek. Het was niet zo hard als verwacht als ik ben geen tech geek. But now I'm stuck. Maar nu ik ben vast. How can I upload new themes and stuff via FTP? Hoe kan ik uploaden nieuwe thema's en spullen via FTP? I don't know the path and the user and password I need to use here. Ik weet het niet het pad en de gebruikersnaam en het wachtwoord ik gebruik hier.
I'm only familiar with FTP and have no idea on how to use mySQL to upload stuff. Ik ben alleen bekend met FTP en hebben geen idee over het gebruik van mySQL uploaden stuff. Could you please point me in the right direction? Kunt u me in de goede richting? Once I can figure out the right path with FTP (I use SmartFTP) I will be fine. Zodra ik kan bedenken het juiste pad met FTP (ik gebruik SmartFTP) zal ik prima.

@Monika: Its all easy, and you'd feel it funny that it has been under your nose all the while. @ Monika: Zijn alle gemakkelijk, en je zou voelen grappig, dat is onder uw neus alle tijd. Assuming that your wordpress folder is x(usually C)x:\xampplite\htdocs\wordpress\wp-content is the folder which contains plugins, themes and uploads folders. Ervan uitgaande dat uw WordPress map x (meestal C) x: \ xampplite \ htdocs \ wordpress \ wp-content is de map waarin plugins, thema's en upload mappen. Then, just put the themes/plugins to their respective directories, like on the real server. Dan, net de thema's / plugins voor hun respectievelijke mappen, zoals op de echte server. No FTP, just Windows Explorer (or its Geen FTP, gewoon in Windows Verkenner (of zijn Mac Mac equivalent). gelijkwaardig).
Duh…LOL, it does make sense now you mentioned it. Duh ... lol, het maakt nu je zin genoemd is. Naturally it is all stored locally so it would be there. Natuurlijk is het allemaal lokaal opgeslagen, zodat het zou daar. Oh man, sometimes I don't see the trees in the forest. Oh man, soms zie ik niet in de bomen in het bos.

It says that Can’t select database Hij zegt dat Cana € ™ t selecteer database
We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the wordpress database. Wij waren in staat om verbinding te maken met de database server (wat betekent dat uw gebruikersnaam en wachtwoord is oke), maar niet in staat te selecteren wordpress database.
Anyone cah help me? CAH iemand mij helpen?

When inputting the link: Bij het invoeren van de link: http://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php http://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php all I get is a box with an error message “Error establishing a database connection and then a bunch of options of what it could be. alles wat ik krijg is een vakje met een foutmelding "Error oprichting van een database connectie en dan een heleboel mogelijkheden van wat het zou kunnen zijn.
I've been over the instructions with a fine tooth comb, xammp is running (I'm using the full version if that makes a difference), I can get into MySQL etc.etc. Ik ben al meer dan de instructies, met een fijne kam tand, xammp draait (ik gebruik de volledige versie als dat verschil maakt), kan ik in MySQL etc.etc.
Any suggestions what the deal could be? Eventuele suggesties wat de deal zou kunnen worden? Really appreciate your help. Waardeer uw hulp.

@Rennie: The instructions here are for the smallest XAMPP package, that is XAMPPlite. @ Rennie: De instructies zijn voor de kleinste XAMPP pakket, dat is XAMPPlite. Hence, these steps may not work for the full version of XAMPP. Vandaar dat deze stappen niet werken voor de volledige versie van XAMPP.

Sometimes its take a long time until the sites is open. Soms zijn lang duren totdat de sites wordt geopend.
Would you tell why this happen? Wilt u vertellen waarom dit gebeurd?
If you have external scripts (ads, for example) in the template, each page load would be delayed because of that. Als u externe scripts (advertenties, bijvoorbeeld) in het sjabloon, elke pagina belasting zou worden vertraagd vanwege dat.
