Ubuntu 9.10 alpha has been around for some time now, and final version will be released later this year. Open Parallels Desktop and click File > New Virtual Machine. Open Parallels Desktop e clique em File> New Virtual Machine.

Upon clicking “Start”, the installation will begin. Ao clicar em "Iniciar", a instalação começará. 
Choose your language and hit Enter. Escolha o seu idioma e pressione Enter.

It is a good idea to update all software (and do so every week or so) – the advantage of Linux is the frequent security updates and patches.
