InquisitorX is a little plugin that brings ‘find as you type’ results. I came across InquisitorX first in a post by Paul Stamatiou – seeing as how it was only for Safari, I ignored it promptly.
There was no signs of development for the plugin even on Safari. Back in May this year, Yahoo! acquired InquisitorX, and it appears they have worked on bringing out versions for other browsers. Currently, the Firefox plugin is in experimental phase, but has brought much of the functioality to Firefox. The UI has been top-notch – just what you would expect in a plugin originally for Safari. The black backgrounds, rounded corner etc. are droolworthy.
Although Yahoo owns the extension, I find it rather noble/selfless and funny at once that InquisitorX supports Google and Yahoo results. Maybe they realized that no one was going to use InquisitorX if it was only pulling in results from Yahoo
I will probably use InquisitorX atleast for the forseeable future – expect a review here on TechZilo shortly.
