Go to the directory named .gimp-2.x (where 2.x is version number of GIMP you are using). Ga naar de naam van de directory. Gimp-2.x (waar is versie 2.x aantal van GIMP u gebruikt). Within that folder, there are subfolders, one of which is brushes . Binnen die map, er zijn submappen, waarvan een borstels. Drop your brushes to that folder. Laat je penselen in die map.

I have a bunch of brushes moved into my GIMP brushes folder, but I can't figure out how to access them in the application itself. I have mentioned the steps required to download GIMP brushes very clearly. Ik heb gewezen op de stappen die nodig zijn voor het downloaden van GIMP brushes heel duidelijk.
I keep copying the location of my brush file in the extraction wizard like I'm supposed to…but for some reason it won't work! I have extracted the brushes to the Brushes folder and just started up Gimp, but the brushes are not there. @Emily: You have to place the extracted brush files (individual files, not folders) into the brushes folder. @ Emily: U moet plaats de uitgepakte bestanden borstel (individuele bestanden, geen mappen) in de borstels map.
How do you install them in Ubuntu???? Hoe installeren hen Ubuntu???? As Gimp is the default image editor in Ubuntu I really don't understand why you explain how to install brushes in Windows and not in Linux. Zoals Gimp is de standaard afbeelding editor in Ubuntu ik echt niet begrijpen waarom je uitleggen hoe je brushes in Windows te installeren en niet in Linux. Please help Help
In Ubuntu, go to /usr/share/gimp/2.0/brushes and add them there. In Ubuntu, ga dan naar / usr/share/gimp/2.0/brushes en daar toevoegen.
The 2.0 will change according to your version, I just use the one that's in the repositories. De 2.0 zal veranderen afhankelijk van uw versie, ik gebruik gewoon degene die in de repositories.

@Pinkeh if u operate windows it should unzip these files automatically or if not u need to download winrar or easyzip it will guide u through it at that point to unzip these files @ Pinkeh wanneer u bedienen ramen moet unzippen deze bestanden automatisch of indien u niet hoeft te downloaden easyzip WinRar of zij zal u begeleiden bij het op dat punt om deze bestanden te unzippen

I'm trying to extract the files in Windows Vista. Ik probeer extract de bestanden in Windows Vista. I looked for the file path to extract the brushes into. Ik keek naar het bestand weg te halen de borstels in. I don't have a Document and Settings folder. Ik heb geen een Document and Settings folder. I found the brushes folder, under my computer name, and then under the gimp version that is directly under that. Ik vond de borstels map onder mijn computer naam, en vervolgens onder de Gimp versie die direct onder dat. But it doesn't give me a path to put in to extract it. Maar het geeft niet mij een pad op te zetten om het te halen. Please help Help

Mandi, you can get fonts for GIMP by downloading them and installing on the system. Mandi, kunt u lettertypen krijgen voor GIMP ze door het downloaden en installeren op het systeem. You do not need a plugin to get fonts. U hoeft niet een plugin om fonts te krijgen.
I defintatly do NOT know what to do. Defintatly Ik weet niet wat te doen. I dont have a Document and Settings folder either. I dont have a Document and Settings beide. I cant even find a brushes folder for heavens sake. I cant zelfs een map voor borstels hemelen sake. So yeah…plaease help Dus ja ... plaease helpen
Sara, if you use Windows Vista, you might be able to find the file under your profile folder (the one that is the parent folder for your documents, pictures etc). Sara, als u Windows Vista gebruikt, kunt u in staat zijn om het bestand te vinden onder je profiel map (degene die de bovenliggende map voor uw documenten, foto's enz.). That's where I found my GIMP folder + brushes. Daar vond ik mijn GIMP map + borstels. In explorer – it's under the Desktop icon. In ontdekkingsreiziger - het is onder het pictogram Bureaublad. You can change your background/foreground colors to use the brushes in color. U kunt uw achtergrond / voorgrond kleuren gebruik van de borstels in kleur. Only the previews are in black and white (unless the brush is specifically designed to be B&W). Alleen de previews zijn in zwart en wit (tenzij de borstel speciaal is ontworpen voor B & W).
changing the background/foreground colours makes no difference… the brushes are all black and white, not just in the previews… they actually apply as black and white. het veranderen van de achtergrond / voorgrond kleuren maakt geen verschil ... de borstels zijn allemaal zwart en wit, niet alleen in de previews ... ze daadwerkelijk van toepassing zijn als zwart en wit. Does anyone else experience this? Is iemand anders deze ervaring?
I have a MacBook with OS X version 10.5.7, and I cannot figure out where to download the brushes to. Ik heb een MacBook met OS X versie 10.5.7, en ik kan niet achterhalen waar de borstels downloaden. I have them on my computer, in my specific gimp folder, but I cannot access my brushes folder -even if I go to the finder=>go=>go to folder and search “~/gimp2.6.4/brushes”. I've installed brushes on my older computer by just entering Gimp into the search and finding the Gimp folder and the brushes worked just fine.
