After privacy concerns that arose when Google Reader announced that it was introducing a feature that let users share posts with anyone in their Gmail/Gtalk contact list, Google has finally introduced total control over which of your friends should see your shared items. Earlier, the sharing was could not be restricted. You could either share with everyone, or not share at all.

One problem that still lingers on after this feature is that your shared items page (available to anyone through a URL) is still visible publicly. Maybe they should add a request option, after which readers can see the shared items page.
