Google engineer Ojan Vafai said Google Chrome will support add-ons and user scripts soon. He also said that Google will work hard to ensure stability and performance of Chrome when addons are supported.
Performance and speed has been Chrome’s mantra, and to ensure that addons will not bog down Chrome will convince a small fraction of reluctant Firefox/IE users who have been unhappy with the performance of their current browsers.
Coincidentally, the biggest complaint against Chrome, and the main reason why many users have not switched to Chrome, is lack of addons. Google is listening to its users well, and will do well to release addons and make it easy for developers to build addons.
Interesting trivia: Aaron Boodman, who built Greasemonkey, works on Google Chrome. This is a strong pointer that Greasemonkey scripts will be one of the first and best addons for Chrome.

It was inevitable – I was sure they would add this feature soon. Its one of the main selling points of Firefox.
it’s funny, the more i use Chrome, the more unstable it seems to get… crashes a lot more, can’t handle sites with flash, hangs every time i close a tab… all that to say, i’ve switched back to Firefox
