  1. I’m with Dustin here. I’ve used Photoshop for years, and have also used GIMP for years. Making the switch had no effect on the quality of my work, it just takes a little longer to get it done with GIMP.

    A “Serious designer” isn’t definied by the money he/she spends on software, they’re defined by their final product.

  2. With the proper plugins Gimp can be made to function very close to Photoshop. The same professional designs and web graphics you see made in Photoshop can be reproduced with nearly the same results.

  3. im not against GIMP or open source but personally any serious web designer must have photoshop (my personal opinion).
