MacHeist, known for their paid software bundles, is giving away paid applications for free until Christmas day. The promotion, named Mac Giving Tree, has 6 applications up for grabs. Two can be downloaded already, while the other four will be available on Christmas morning (requires sign up).

Community aspect seems an important part of the promotion for the giveaway – their Digg front page appearance is proof of this. They have also integrated Twitter updates to their website – your tweets show up if you tweet with @MacHeist.
