The difference is that geoGreeting shows images of various buildings photographed from sky, pulled in from Google Earth. I have seen many people praise Spell with Flickr and say that geoGreeting is 'not quite there yet', but I personally feel that both of them are creative web apps. Spell with Flickr has the advantage of more variety from Flickr and code to embed the image in a webpage, whereas a word spelled by geoGreeting can be saved with a URL that they provide.
