Facebook adds filtering to news items

Facebook has added a new feature: fine-tuning of news feed present on profile pages. Previously, news items could be filtered to see status updates, posted items and top items from friends. Changes include displaying only application, events or friends list-specific news items.

This can certainly help in weeding out a lot of updates that do not warrant attention – like status updates (if you’re hard-pressed for time, like me).
