Version 2.7 of the popular open-source blogging software, Wordpress, is available for download. The new admin interface, QuickPress, comment threading, paging, replying to comments from your dashboard, installing any plugin directly from WordPress.org with a single click, automatic upgrades (without using plugins) and sticky posts are some of the more interesting features in WordPress 2.7.

The dashboard has not changed much since the RC versions, but the changes and integration of several plugins are a welcome change. Before upgrading, you should check if all the plugins you use are compatible with WordPress 2.7 (see plugin compatibility list). If some plugin(s) do not work, it would be wiser to wait until the plugins are updated. New keyboard shortcuts have been introduced in comment moderation pages, which you have to enable first (from Users> Your Profile).
Update: I found a rather comical bug in WP 2.7 : the post slug field is present below the title, and also as a small box on the right column. The slug was repositioned several times during beta and Release Candidate launches, perhaps developers forgot to remove the earlier code.
