MediaCoder is an open source file converter / transcoder, and can batch convert files from one format to another. It supports a large number of formats, so chances are you will not need to search for another media converter because of lack of support of the format you need.
Media Coder is very fast – particularly because it is architecture-aware and can take advantage of multiple cores. It contains a bunch of presets so that you can transcode files without even configuring settings. It can also combine files while converting them.
Its options might be a bit bewildering for a first-time user (it was, for me), but experiment with a few settings and you will feel at home. The presets are a Godsend at such difficult moments.
Media Coder is my favorite media converter – I have written tutorials on converting FLAC files to MP3 and AMR files to MP3 using Media Coder.
