The good thing is that there are many tutorials online showing you how to convert .flac to .mp3. The bad thing is that most of them use shareware software, which usually works for a 30 days before you have to purchase it.
In this tutorial, however, I will show you how to convert FLAC audio files to MP3 files using a single audio converter: All2MP3. All2MP3 requires Mac OS 10.4 Tiger or 10.5 Leopard.
Convert .flac to .mp3
Download All2MP3. It is a .zip file, which you can double-click to get the installer. When the installer is obtained, double-click it and install All2MP3.
All2MP3 is a free application with a single drag and drop method interface. Upon opening it, you will be presented with a simple window with an option for quality.

Mac OS X application All2MP3 converts FLAC files to MP3
Drag and drop the .flac files that you want to convert. Then, set the Quality at 192 Kbps (standard MP3 is at 128 Kbps, so 192 Kbps would be good quality) and hit All2MP3. Once the conversion is over, you will find the MP3 files in the same location as the original FLAC files.
What is .FLAC
FLAC stands for Free Lossless Audio Codec. Lossless formats have high file size and high quality. Most people prefer .mp3 format because of its lower size and excellent compatibility on various devices.
The good news is that quality difference between .flac and .mp3 is undetectable for most humans. By careful compression, which retains only those frequencies which a human can hear, .mp3 can be nearly as good as .flac files for most purposes.

all 2 mp3 sucks! it kept crashing…worthless piece of code.
Works for me
It didn’t work for me on 10.4, even after the install of LAME. The site seems to give no technical help or troubleshooting. I suppose installing 10.5 would help, but an OS upgrade just for a simple conversion isn’t worth it.
Shame.
It worked perfectly for me!
Flac to 320 mp3’s in no time…
On the contrary, this worked perfectly on OS 10.6. Oddly.
works!
works like a charm for me in 10.5.8
Can’t even unzip the file in 10.5.8!!!
All2MP3 worked fine for me a few weeks ago. Now it acts like everything is running fine, but NO MP3 files anywhere. Where are they going, if anywhere. It seems like it is doing the conversion task, but giving me no conversions. Very stange since it has worked so fine in the past.
Couldn’t even unzip the corrupted file!
Doesn’t work very well for me on Mac OS X 10.6. I’m trying to convert to 320KBPS and before I can convert anything, I’m gettings LOADS of bad file name errors, and then when I try and convert the files it actually likes, I see a WAV file turn up, the same bad file name error, then the WAV file disappears.
All2Mp3 works like a charm under SnowLeopard. Make sure you install the LAME-Package first.
Thx mate
