Technorati Blog Claim sucks (and its dangerous)

Howdy! It appears that you have come to this blog for the first time. In order to receive more useful posts like this, you can subscribe to RSS feed or receive latest articles to your email inbox. Thanks for visiting this blog, and have a good day.

Technorati is a famous blog search engine used by millions of users worldwide. It has been through its ups and downs, and is criticised and hailed simultaneously.

Until Google BlogSearch came around, Technorati was the only credible blog search engine. To this date, Technorati remains a good source for counting incoming links, tracking who is linking to you and rating blogs.

Does more advertising equate to more traffic to your blog?

Online advertising methods include pay-per-click programs like AdSense and AdBrite, and direct advertising methods like Text-Link-Ads and paid reviews/links. If there is a middle man, they get a cut of the profits to the webmaster. The split is usually 50-50 (ReviewMe, TLA), or 65-35(Sponsored Reviews) or even unannounced(Google AdSense).

Why new blogs should not display ads

Michael had written up a review scrutiny of this blog. Being honest and in-your-face, I found it a nice read. Do go over there and let him know your thoughts.

In his review, Michael said:

4. No ads on the site, there is nothing wrong with ads but it is refreshing to see that this blogger isn’t just out to make a quick buck (not that it is that easy to make a quick buck with blogging, your better off making a quick buck from a minimum wage job).

Darren Rowse and BlogBloke reunite

Round 3: Its Darren Rowse in green shorts and BlogBloke in red shorts. The referee calls the bell, and the round begins. Wait, what’s this? They’re shaking hands, hugging each other, wishing each other. The referee is talking to them both. After a lengthy discussion, the referee calls off the match. Its a tie. BlogBloke and Darren Rowse are joint-winners.

Is domination of WordPress and FeedBurner good?

FeedBurner and WordPress are the overwhelming dominators in their respective fields. They seem to offer decent services(that’s an understatement!). But as the saying goes, no domination is good.

Every day, we hear and read how great WordPress is, how cool FeedBurner services are, etc. They provide excellent services, and have huge communities backing their decisions. Say something against them, and you would suddenly find a few hundred ardent followers hurling curses at you.
