Bookmarks can be used to store URLs of websites we visit often. Bokmärken kan användas för att lagra webbadresser för webbplatser vi besöker ofta. Instead of having to remember all the URLs, you simply have to click “Bookmark this page” or its equivalent in your browser. All software are vulnerable to bugs and crashes – so, the chances of losing your bookmarks to a Firefox bug (more often caused by extensions) is high. Instead of worrying over the safety of your bookmarks, you can put in place a comprehensive bookmark backup strategy, which I will be detailing in this post. Backup bookmarks by exporting as HTML Backup bokmärken genom att exportera som HTML

Backup bookmarks with Foxmarks Backup bokmärken med Foxmarks
Foxmarks extension backs up your bookmarks online (you have to create an account at Foxmarks website). You can see all the bookmarks at your Foxmarks account online even if you are away from home. Du kan se alla bokmärken i din Foxmarks konto online även om du inte är hemma. After the installation, appropriate steps will be shown – proceed to create an account, and your bookmarks will be backed up online. Efter installationen kommer lämpliga åtgärder att visas - gå att skapa ett konto och dina bokmärken kommer att backas upp på nätet.
If you loose your bookmarks due to a crash, install Firefox and Foxmarks, and in options, click “Force overwrite of local bookmarks”. Om du förlorar dina bokmärken på grund av en krasch, installera Firefox och Foxmarks, och i alternativ klickar du på "Tvinga overwrite lokala bokmärken".
Schedule bookmark backups with FEBE extension Schema bokmärke säkerhetskopior med FEBE extension
FEBE is more than just an extension to backup bookmarks – it can backup cookies, settings, history and bookmarks. FEBE är mer än bara en förlängning av backup bookmarks - det kan backup cookies, inställningar, historia och bokmärken.
Install FEBE Firefox extension Installera FEBE Firefox extension . . Click Tools -> FEBE -> Perform Backup for a backup. Klicka på Verktyg -> FEBE -> Utför Backup för en backup. When you need to restore it, locate the backup files and click Restore -> Restore bookmarks. To schedule a bookmark backup, click Tools -> FEBE -> FEBE options, and click the “Schedule” tab. So, there you have it – a comprehensive strategy to never loose your bookmarks again – particularly if you save lots of bookmarks. I personally use this because I save many pages suitable for post content (particularly list posts)- which I cannot afford to loose.
