How to access new version of iGoogle

Google tested a new iGoogle in a Google accounts back in June. However, most people have been unable to access iGoogle (myself included).

Several layout changes, canvas view for gadgets etc. are some of the notable features of the new iGoogle. This canvas view essentially expands the area available for the gadget (which translates into better features).

Hongkiat has discovered a way to access the new version of iGoogle – just follow the steps below:

  • Visit http://www.google.com/ig
  • Paste the following bit of Javascript code in the browser address bar:

    javascript:_dlsetp(’v2=1′);

  • To go back to the original version, click “Leave the sandbox” on top of the page or paste this in the browser address bar:

    javascript:_dlsetp(’v2=0′);
